Annual General Meeting

All players, parents and friends of Blue Mountains Football Club are invited and welcome to attend the Annual General Meeting.

When: Sunday, 19 September 2010
Time: 11:30 am
Where: Knapsack Park, Glenbrook
Agenda:

  1. Confirm minutes of 2009 AGM
  2. President’s Report
  3. Treasurer’s Report (presentation of statement, as required by S.26(6) of the Associations Incorporation Act 1984 (NSW))
  4. Consideration of an honorarium for serving committee members (as per Rules of Association clause 31.3)
  5. Election of two Board positions
  6. Special Resolution – election of Life Members
  7. General business

The AGM can only start on time if there is a quorum. If a quorum isn’t present by 12:00 pm, the AGM will be adjourned by one week. Nobody wants this to happen, so please attend to ensure a quorum and so that the Juniors Presentation Day is not unnecessarily delayed.

To nominate for the Board, please complete the “Nomination for Membership to the BMFC Board” form (click here for a copy) and submit it by post, fax or e-mail/scan to the BMFC Secretary by Sunday, 12 September 2010. The signed hard copy will need to be handed to the BMFC Secretary.

Additionally, you can also nominate to serve on one of the three Management Committees (MCs) that the Club will start forming in 2010-11. These MCs will broadly administer the Senior comp, Junior comp and SSF teams, as well as the auxiliary roles required by a club our size – each MC will have 5-10 people. We need more people to help run the club! It’s as simple as that. If you wish to help, by volunteering to be on a particular MC, please complete the “Nomination for Membership to a BMFC Management Committee” form (click here for a copy) and submit it by post, fax or e-mail/scan to the BMFC Secretary. Alternatively, please send your expression of interest to contact@bmfc.com.au, include a contact number and someone from the Club will give you a call to discuss it further.

2010 Club Person of the Year

Each year the Club’s Committee awards the “Club Person of the Year” Award to an outstanding individual (or individuals) in recognition of their contribution to the Club. This award is open to all club members, other than those currently serving on the Committee.

Nominations for the 2010 “Club Person of the Year“are now being called for.

Please send your nomination ASAP, but no later than the end of August, to “e-mail”, indicating the reason(s) why you are nominating the person/people.

10- & 20- Year Awards

Each year the Club recognizes players who have played for the Club for 10 or 20 years – playing years don’t have to be consecutive. The Club currently has a list of players who fit these criteria, but to be doubly-sure, and to ensure that no one is missed, please let the club know (on “e-mail”) if you believe you are eligible. Our records are in a good state from 2000 onwards; prior to that, documentation is scant.

Equipment Return Days

  • SSF (U5-U9) teams: 10:00-10:30am, Saturday, 28 August 2010.
  • Competition (U11-AA/O35) teams: 7:30-8:00pm, Thursday, 9 September 2010.

The following needs to be returned to the club house at the time/date specified above:

  • kit bags (containing: WASHED, CLEAN jerseys, vests and bibs; ball pumps; trophies; first aid kits; folders/clipboards, etc)
  • balls (both match and training balls)
  • training cones/equipment
  • keys to the front gate and/or club house
  • anything else the Club provided you with.

Registration ID cards are not to be returned – these are the property of the player and need to be given to them.

Project 22

Project 22 is the official talented player pathway for boys and girls aged 9-15 years of age. The philosophy of the program is “The best players, training and competing free of charge 4 to 5 days per week, 42 weeks of the year”. This program is conducted by Football NSW (FNSW), in conjunction with the Football Federation of Australia (FFA).

Project 22 aims to create a positive learning environment to foster and develop the next generation of Matildas and Socceroos, who will compete at the FIFA World Cup in 2021 and 2022. It is centered on FNSW being able to exceed world best practice in providing an elite competition and training environment for our future National Team Players.

If you are interested in trialling for Project 22 and were born in 1999, 2000, 2001 or 2002, then click here for more information regarding trial dates/locations.

“Soccer Under the Stars” Off-Season Sports Programs

“Soccer Under the Stars” will be running, over the off-season of winter football, a series of different ball games for the children, to keep them active and to learn new skills along the way. The games include European Handball, Basketball, Cricket, T-Ball, Ultimate Frisbee and, of course, Football. Over the last few years “Soccer Under the Stars” has combined Special Needs children with main stream children and it has worked very well. Siblings who have a Special Needs brother or sister can have them join in the games and have fun, as well as interacting with other siblings who share the same understandings. “Soccer Under the Stars” is run by Gary Maton who, amongst other roles, is the Head Coach for the Nepean Soccer Dragons (Special Needs Children at Jamison Oval). Click here for the flyer regarding October school holidays and Spring/Summer programs.

Futsal with the West City Crusaders – Football NSW Affiliated

West City Crusaders FC is the only Nepean-based, Football NSW affiliated and approved 5-a-side Futsal club (indoor soccer) who currently host indoor summer futsal competitions for boys & girls aged U6s right through to all age senior men, women’s and mixed competitions on various week nights. Their comps start in September 2010 and finish in February 2011.

You can register as many players as you like in a team, but bear in mind that games are only 30 minutes long. Most teams in a 5-a-side comp consist of 6 to 8 players, with unlimited interchange – there are four court players & one goal keeper. For more information, click here.
