Match Report

After two draws and a loss, we were determined to put in a good performance and get our first win. With coach Harry out, control of the team moved from the sourcerer to the apprentice. Tactical changes were made to shore up the centre of the park and rotate the interchanges regularly out wide.

A tight first half, we probably created the better opportunities. La Celeste clipped the top of the crossbar and had one shot very well saved. Mid way through the half, the returning Kaiser dinked a ball over the top of the defence for La Celeste to run onto and calmly stroke past the keeper. It stayed that way til half time.

The Axe came on for Swervin at the start of the second half and slotted in well, the defence today was well organised and gave the opposition nothing.

The second half was similar to the first, not much in it. Leeds made a superb one-on-one save to keep the scores level. Swinger was accused of diving in with both feet – something he had done the night before but not today. Stanley spat the dummy, Tevez style, as he waited his turn on the sideline; when Super Coach finally brought him on, he lasted another 10 minutes and then subbed himself with a sore groin.

With about 10 to go, Uncle Fester, surging through from midfield, played a neat one-two with La Celeste and drove into the box, shooting across the keeper and into the net. Two nil it ended; a very solid, controlled performance.

Everyone played well today but special mention to Intensity and The Hoff for playing the full 90 minutes with a combined age of of 132 – a fantastic effort fellas, didn’t give them a sniff (steady Swing!)

Finally, all the best to Leeds for the Big Day next Saturday – have a great day mate.
