Match Report

After weeks of training, who would have thought a 30 second demonstration before the game on through balls would provide our "Eureka!"moment?!!

Well done to all the boys today – everyone’s dribbling, passing and running into space was outstanding!

Brad was excellent between the sticks in the first half – his positioning was perfect, and hardly had to move at all for all of his great stops.

Tayden opened his account for the season in the first half, running on to a good through ball, and burying the ball into the back of the net. He also scored a second in the second half to help seal a win.

Zach was doing his best Lionel Messi impersonation, dribbling well and providing great passes. So too Jayden was showing off his dribbling skills and showing great awareness, releasing the ball at just the right times.

Jack was busy all game – winning the ball well, always dribbling towards goal, and also making great upfield runs into space looking to receive a pass.

Thomas H. fought hard for the ball all first half, providing plenty of turnovers, and was solid as a rock as our 2nd half goalie.

Ethan and Cy both listened well to Coach’s pre-game instructions – both lads were making well-timed runs forward, and were always threatening to score goals, just didn’t have luck on their side (although Cy claimed a dubious deflected goal in the first half that may have been an own goal to the opposition – i’ll award it as it was a convincing appeal!)

Man of the Match – Joseph – for always winning back possession, providing great through balls to his team mates, and scoring a well-deserved goal in the 2nd half.

Well done boys, one proud coach today!
