GRAND FINAL 12/2

It’s a wonderful system that allows the 4th and 5th Placed Teams to meet in the Grand Final.

The rain finally cleared and the Fields were in surprisingly good condition. Our preparation for this big game was perfect as we trained the previous evening, then had an hour warm-up before the Game.

Eva Stanners kindly researched Yoga for Footballers, and put the boys through twenty minutes of stretches and relaxation. It was a first for many of the players, but all agreed it was a wonderful start to the day.

The Match was played in front of a very vocal crowd as both sets of perfectly-behaved Supporters urged their Team on.

The action swung end-to-end in the tightest of games, and it would of been a brave person who would of predicted the Winning Team. As the League Position suggests, there was very little between these two sides, and after Fifty Minutes, the game was Deadlocked at 1-1.

The boys were introduced to Extra Time, another ten pulsating minutes, where there was serious concern for the Elderly, and not so Old, on the Side Line! Everyone seemed to survive, still locked at 1-1, and time to move onto the Penalty Shootout.

It was all rather serious stuff, and hardly suprising Players had to be talked into taking a Kick. Sadly it didn’t go our way, despite some wonderful Goal Keeping from Robbie Churchill.

As usual NFA put on a wonderful Presentation, The Medal a memorable reward of a great day, and enjoyable Season.
